In reply to Billie Craig. Neuschwanstein is a steep uphill walk from Hohenschwangau. Visitors can walk up the paved pathway or take a carriage ride (weather permitting).

In reply to Hannah. We're so glad you found our guide helpful! On the DB website, look for "Regional Day Ticket for Bavaria". This ticket is the most cost effective and will allow you travel on the train and bus (you'll need both if visiting Neuschwanstein from Munich). If you are unable to find it on the website though, you can also buy your ticket from the train station.

In reply to Katherine Wheeler. That will be a great time of year to visit! As long as you get one of the earlier trains to Füssen, it can definitely be done. Prepare for a long day, but it will be so worth it! And those donuts are delicious!! I’ve never tasted anything else quite like them.
