Why You Should Visit Jaemor Farms This Fall

If you live in Georgia, odds are you’ve heard of Jaemor Farms. This bustling farm is known for its fresh produce and cafe, both of which are open year round. However, from mid-September through the first week in November, Jaemor Farms really pulls out all the stops and becomes the best place in the area to spend a day with family during their harvest celebration each fall. In this post, we’re filling you in on all the reasons why you should plan to visit Jaemor Farms this fall!

Location and Pricing

Jaemor Farms is located in Alto, Georgia USA. Alto is a small town in Northeast Georgia, and Jaemor Farms is the big attraction there. You can easily spend several hours on the farm, especially if you visit in the fall!

The Harvest Celebration kicks off in September on weekends only. In October, the event ramps up though and is open 7 days a week with extended hours. We recommend visiting on a weekday if possible, because it will be less crowded. The only exception to this is the week of fall break which can be extremely busy with so many families visiting at one time.

In 2024, admission to the Harvest celebration is $20/person ages 3 and up during the week and $17/person ages 3 and up during the week. You can also add on picking flowers in the zinnia field for $8/person or gem mining for $8-15/person (depending on the package chosen). We find that the general admission ticket to the harvest celebration offers plenty to do though!

There is a large open air barn where tickets can be purchased on site. We recommend buying tickets in advance online though to avoid having to wait in any long lines upon arrival. If you go this route, you’ll still head to the barn to get checked in and given a wristband, but you should get to bypass the longer line where people are purchasing tickets.

It should be noted that admission to the produce market and cafe are free. They will have a wide selection of pumpkins available for purchase at the market, but it’s so much more fun to go to the patch and pick your own! Plus, you’ll find better pricing for pumpkins at the patch than you will in the market!

Keep in Mind Before You Go

Just because it is technically fall does not mean that you will experience stereotypical fall weather. When Kayla visited in mid October, it was close to 90 degrees! Dress for what the weather is projected to be and not what you hope it will be. There were a lot of people in long sleeves, sweatshirts, and tights that seemed to be regretting their outfit choices as they sweated in the sun.

The barn where tickets are sold does provide some shade, and there are refreshments that can be purchased throughout the farm to keep you cooled off. Most of this experience is outside in the sun though, so prepare accordingly!

What’s Included in Admission to Jaemor’s Harvest Celebration?

Carnival Style Games & Fun Activities

We think the entrance fee to visit Jaemor Farms in the fall is absolutely worth it (especially for kids), because it includes so much!

There are several carnival style games that kids will love. This year, they had a basketball game where you could compete with friends on who can score the most baskets. There was also a Barnyard Baseball game where you tried to throw balls through holes. Smaller children enjoyed the bubble station where you use giant wands with nets to make enormous bubbles. The activity Kayla’s daughter and niece enjoyed most though was the frog launcher! In this game, kids put rubber frogs on a catapult and try to launch them into boxes mounted on a wall.

For kids wanting to be a little more active, there was a giant spiderweb net to play on and a mini track for kids to race tricycles. The highlights in the play area though were the mini corn maze that kids can easily navigate through on their own and giant slides built into the side of a hill!

While most of the games in the play area are aimed toward kids, there were several adults enjoying the basketball game and the slides.

Corn Maze

Adjacent to the activity area is a giant corn maze for all ages to enjoy. The design of the corn maze changes every year with the 2024 design being in the shape of candy skulls. To see what past years’ designs were, head to the barn where you get your wristbands and look up toward the ceiling where they have aerial photos from every year posted.

Pumpkin Patch

Outside the entrance to the corn maze is where you can hop on a hayride to the pumpkin patch. The rides load up every 10 minutes or so and the journey to the patch lasts around 10 minutes. This is a great opportunity to see the areas where Jaemor Farms grows its produce and flowers. The hay ride has bench seating, so it’s pretty comfy.

Before disembarking at the pumpkin patch, an employee will tell you about the pricing for the pumpkins in the patch, the specialty treats offered at the concession stand there, and the other activities near the patch that are included in the wristband. Pricing is also listed on signs by the patch and there are employees floating around that can answer any questions you have.

Because pumpkins can be a little cumbersome to walk around with, we recommend doing the activities near the pumpkin patch before picking out your pumpkins (more on those below).

The patch has pumpkins of every size, shape, and color to choose from at the pumpkin patch, and Kayla found the prices to be fair during her visit. After you’ve picked your pumpkins and taken all your family pumpkin patch photos, you’ll take your wheelbarrow to an employee who will tally up the cost and give you a receipt. You take the receipt to the window for checkout. After that, you can either head back to the hub of the farm on the hayride or employees will load up your pumpkins and your group in an ATV and take you right to your car!

Pumpkin Train

Each year, Jaemor Farms has the cutest little pumpkin train for smaller kids to enjoy. The cars are big enough for adults to join to, but it can be quite cramped if your taller! In 2023, the train was located on the lower end of the farm by the activity area. In 2024, it was located right next to the pumpkin patch. Kayla’s daughter LOVED doing this!

Apple Launcher

A short walk from the pumpkin patch, there is an apple launcher! Your wristband includes 3 apple launches. This activity is fun for all ages, but the adults seemed to particularly enjoy this one!

Concession Stand

The concession stand is worth visiting in our opinion because they have some specialty items not offered at their larger market. Fan favorites include their delicious apple cider donuts and apple pie nachos.

Jaemor Farms Market & Cafe

After you’ve loaded up your pumpkins in the car, we recommend circling back to the market and cafe before you leave. They have adorable decor and a plethora of fresh produce to choose from.

The Eatery at Jaemor is known for having delicious food and seasonal desserts. We highly recommend getting a peach or strawberry milkshake and a fried apple pie! You can check out The Eatery’s full menu HERE.

  1. This looks incredible for kids! I love that they have such a big variety of pumpkins as well!

Erm, my non-American-ness might be showing, but what is a fried apple pie? Is it like a slice of pie that they fry? Or they fry it to cook it!? (I might need to try that!!)

    1. Hi! A fried apple pie is a hand pie (similar to a pasty) but filled with apples that have been cooked with cinnamon and sugar. They are so yummy!

  2. What a fun family activity! I always think of Hilton Head being only the beach, but you’ve proved me wrong. So cute. Happy Halloween!
