Kayla chose Edinburgh as her wedding destination in 2016 before she had ever set foot there. She stepped off the train, heard bagpipes echoing off the cobblestones, looked up at that skyline and burst into tears. She knew immediately.

She went back in 2018 for a month during a study abroad program. Then again in 2022 for another month, this time bringing her daughter for her first international trip. By 2024 she had spent almost four months in the city she considers her second home.
